Ó Bhéal’s Winter Warmer Festival

Over the weekend I had the immense pleasure of taking part in a reading for Ó Bhéal‘s Winter Warmer Festival, an annual event that takes place in Cork, Ireland. I read alongside MK Chavez and Maurice Riordan. Chavez and I Zoomed in from the US while Riordan appeared in person. It was so lovely to see all the audience members gathered together in such a beautiful space, and I’m grateful to Lucy Holmes-Roberts for snapping this photo of my enormous grin during the Q&A session at the end. All events were streamed live on Ó Bhéal’s website and I spent some time attending various events before and after mine. It truly is a winter warmer; despite taking part virtually, it felt like a cozy and welcoming space and I look forward to attending as a virtual audience member next year.

I read an excerpt from my strange lyric/hybrid memoir project on grief, which is still in-progress. You can view recordings from the entire event on Ó Bhéal’s website.
